A great place
to live, work, play and visit

Even if you don't recognize the name, you know King Park. You know our vibrant, diverse neighborhoods, including Herron-Morton, the Old Northside, Bruce's Place, and Fall Creek Place. You know us as the home of Herron High School, the Harrison Center for the Arts, and most of Indianapolis's television stations. You've driven through on your way downtown—or perhaps you've ridden or run through along the Monon Trail.

King Park Area Development Corporation (KPADC) is dedicated to making this great place even better! Explore King Park—and let us know how we can help make your experience more rewarding.

LIGHT THE WAY PROJECT

KPADC was very fortunate to work with Tom Turluemke and Linda Dorman on their Great Ideas Project with support from the Arts Council of Indianapolis, the Harrison Center for the Arts, IndyParks, Urban Times and many fantastic neighbors to drill 100 barrels to light the way to Martin Luther King Jr. Park. We would like to thank the many neighbors that braved the winter cold on December 4th, and special thanks to DEEM, Don Edwards Electrical and Mechnical for the use of the light strings, South Bend Chocolate Company for the delicious hot chocolate, Robert Pastore for his gift of song, Thade Correa on the piano, and the KPADC Culture Recreation and Beautification Committee for its leadership.

The barrels can be purchased for $25 each and all proceeds will be reinvested in additional public art in the King Park neighborhood. The barrels are being sold on Friday December 12th from 3:00-4:30 and Saturday December 13th from 9:30-11:30 at 25th and Central (Tim and Avi's former location), the site of the Winter's Farmer Market on Saturdays. We can accept cash or check for purchase.
