What is a Community Development Corporation?

Community Development Corporations (CDCs) help neighborhoods direct their own economic destiny. They believe that long-term revitalization of urban neighborhoods is most successful when it is resident driven.

CDCs are catalysts for community-led neighborhood rebirth through housing revitalizations, economic development and partnerships with crucial self-sufficiency programs. CDCs maximize public funds through alliances with financial institutions, equity investors and individual donors.

King Park Area Development Corporation improves the quality of life for its residents by creating partnerships for housing development.

Vision Statement
The King Park area is home to vibrant, healthy neighborhoods where a diverse population lives, works and shops. Vacant lots have disappeared and neighborhood services have returned to the community’s revitalized commercial corridors, including ice cream parlors, coffee shops, and hardware stores.

The King Park area has also preserved and enhanced its aesthetic and recreational amenities with safe appealing parks and bike trails.
